Employee satisfaction

Employee engagement is not the same as employee satisfaction

Employee satisfaction or job satisfaction is, quite elementary, simply put, it is how satisfied employees are with their jobs. Factors that influence employee satisfaction might include compensation, workload, perceptions of management, flexibility, teamwork, resources, etc. It only indicates how happy or content your employees are. It does not address their level of motivation, involvement, or emotional commitment.

Employee Engagement

The plain and simple definition would be :People want to come to work, understand their jobs, and know how their work contributes to the success of the organization.

Employee engagement is the extent to which employees feel passionate about their jobs, are committed to the organization, and put discretionary effort into their work.

Highly engaged workforce can increase innovation, productivity, and bottom-line performance while reducing costs related to hiring and retention in highly competitive talent markets.

It increases the revenue

Engaging your employees will increase your revenue. Aon’s 2018 global engagement report shows interesting results. It shows that every 5 point increase in engagement level leads to a 3% increase in revenue.

When employees feel engaged, they naturally go the extra mile to achieve. They finish their work faster and their capacity to finish tasks also increases. Higher engagement levels increases a company’s revenue. Exactly two and a half times more than a company with lower engagement levels.
